Woke up to find myself in a city near Picadilly…
Okay. Now that my pop reference song is over, let me tell
you about that city near Picadilly.
That’s right folks, I’m in London. I take the Picadilly
Tube line every day. [ahem, which amounts to 2 days.] So far, it has been
splendidly ‘brilliant.’ I’m soaked to the bone, and chilled through and
through, but I’m having a true British experience, I guess.
My flights have been good. Note to self and everyone:
airplanes are freezing. Wear five times as much as you expect to need, and ask
for as many blankets as possible. Otherwise you wont be able to sleep. At all.
Not even a wink. Anyways. So, when I arrived at Heathrow I queued for about 2
hours to get through customs. Then I waited for Jessica. I was getting nervous,
and so I went and asked the information center where Terminal 2 was [where she
told me her plane was coming in] and he said, “Terminal 2 doesn’t exist.] oh.
Okay. How in the world was I going to find my dear travelling buddy in the huge
airport? I didn’t know. But, hey! She found me. So yes. From Heathrow we took
the Tube to our hostel.
Being in a hostel is a weird experience. There is just
random people in your room. And, I think
I make it really awkward. Because I feel like I should introduce myself. But I
don’t know if they are interested in even knowing. So I just sit in silence.
And occasionally make eye contact. And listen to them snore. Cool.
Yesterday we also:
-saw Big Ben. A lot of times. And I took this cool
picture:
-took a ride on the London Eye. It was cool to see Thames
[Jessica is obsessed with Thames. If you could have a crush on a river, hers
would be equal to that of a 14 year old mia-maid’s passionate crush. –don’t
worry she admits this crush.--]
This morning we went to the London Tower. It looks like
it should be fake. I don’t know how else to describe it. It is hard for me to
fathom that it was built so long ago. Look:
This is the London Eye. good thing i'm afraid of ferris wheels, eh?? Ha. Not. No, I did pretty good on this one. It moved very slowly. And NEVER stopped.
this is me at the London Tower. Look at how GREEN the lawn is!!!

Also this is the first of three experiences of being hit
on by French boys. And when I say boys, I mean like 13 year old boys. (they
said they were sixteen). A boy came up to me and said, “You are so beyootiful,
can I have your telephone number please.” Please read in an over-dramatic
French accent. I just looked at them, and we walked away. Then another one from
their group ran up to me and said, “I’m 16, and I like matoor [mature] women.
Let me take a picture of you.” Once again, Jessica and I just kept walking.
To our dismay, we ended up on the same River Thames
Cruise as them. But we were practicing Russian. So, when they came up behind me
(I didn’t know they were on the same cruise as us, and when I saw them I jumped
to hard because they just snuck up on me) they heard us speaking in Russian,
and asked “Do you speak English?” And we just continued to look at them. So,
they blew me a kiss and walked away. Yay for young boys hitting on me. Yay for
practicing Russian for stopping them to continue.
Anyways…
Then we couldn’t decide what to do next. So we just
walked around for a while. But it was pouring! Seriously, there was so much
flooding that once we got to the British War Museum Experience, it had to close
because of the flooding. But, I got a picture outside of it. See?
Then we went to St. James’ Cathedral. It was so majestic!
And inside there was a choir singing, and the acoustics of it made it unreal.
It was probably my favorite thing we did today.
After we did this, we walked across Tower Bridge to a
Tube station, and took the northern line to Kings Cross Station. Here, I went
on the Hogwarts Express. So now I am sitting in my Corridors in Hufflepuff.
Just trying to find my wand in my trunk as I snack on Bertie Bott’s Every
Flavored Beans and Chocolate frogs that I have left over from the trolley. I
seem to have misplaced it. But, I do
have a picture of me going through the platform. It is a miracle Jessica got a
picture of me before I went through completely.
Sidenote: Millie’s Cookies=best thing I have eaten on
this trip. Burned my tongue with the hot chocolate, though.
Cool. Well, my transfiguration class begins soon. Must
dash!

p.s. song of the day:
Mat. McHugh. Break Your Fall.
It is a good one. It helped block out snoring last night.
