a glimpse into a real life RomCom.

that's right people. this post is almost like a real life RomCom. Except with a big void of Comedy and an even greater lack of Romance.

But, hey! I promise there is a reason to my RomCom title.
You know how a lot of times in romantic comedies 1 member of the relationship
is less than elated about it? And then they go on this trip, or have this huge event happen to them
and life changes. And that 1 member of the relationship sees how great the other is? Yes. I do.
examples, you ask. Well, like in leap year when they are on their way to the airport, and she has to drag her Louis Voutton [spelling] luggage through the grass? Yeah, that was me. Except my luggage is Samsonite.

I'm serious, though. After waking up late, missing our first bus, forgetting our ticket to the second bus at the hostel, going to the wrong train station, up and down stairs with my luggage, waiting in a small waiting room for 6 hours, I officially fail at transportation.

Okay, so that last paragraph didn't even tell you the whole story! But in a nut shell: after completely muffing up our bus transport up to the airport in Stansted, we decided we should take the train. But, we went to the wrong station, and had to carry our luggage up and down plenty flights of stairs. We finally boarded a train to the station. Once we made it to the airport in Stansted, the little buses to take us about the littler parts of Stansted were running fewer and fewer. In fact, the next bus we could take was 6 hours away. So we set out to wait for 6 hours in the freezing waiting room. [don't worry, i used a lovely blue towel as a blanket. and slept more than half the time on my suitcase.] Finally our bus came.

But this really is the show-case of my failure at public transportation. Apparently, those STOP buttons in front of you aren't only for emergencies. They are for when you need to stop.
Well. dang. Good thing I figured this out 10 minutes after we passed our B&B. [i'm lucky it was 10].
So once we pressed the lovely STOP button... we got off into the mud and pouring rain to start our actual adventure.

Luckily for us, there was no sidewalk, and it was a street that a car drove on at least every 3 minutes. So that meant we were able to pull our suitcases through the thick grass that we saw alpaca grazing on. And it was really hilly, so I got a nice work out. But honestly. Even though it was a VERY strenuous and long walk...it was much needed outside of a city time.

And thank goodness when we got to the B&B it was locked and nobody answered. Or else we wouldn't have been able to walk back up to the Pub to see that that was locked as well and closed.

Okay, but seriously. It all worked out. When we went back down to the B&B the owners were just coming back from a birthday party. This B&B is really cozy. But, it is kind of strange. Because we are the only people here. Other than the owners. But I don't care. I was SO glad to get out of the freezing rain and wind.

It is days like today I feel especially grateful for modern technology. I take way too many things for granted. And, without wake up calls like this, I don't think I would ever fully appreciate it. How much easier would today have been if we had had a cell phone? Or even a car? But also, how much harder would this have been if we hadnt had the bus? Or the train? And, I have an increasing appreciation for the ability to communicate instantly.

Well a long post. Without pictures..because was definitely too rainy to take out a camera.
But, hey. I'll treat you to a picture of me in a gas mask! [taken the second time we went to the war experience museum]

also me at the temple. it was so cool to accidentally pass by it. I love that we have such a widespread church.

WELL. Guess what? The next time I post...will be in RUSSIA!!

I hope everything is going well in the USA! Comment and let me know how things are. Or email me! I love emails. More than anyone can understand. And I've only been gone a couple days!

With lots of love and English rain,
Kylie Anne.
