arvo, domovoy, accordians.

i had this brilliant plan to make my title stand for a great and wonderful abbreviation.
and i thought i was so clever. until i typed it up: arvo, domovoy, accordians: otherwise known as ADD. someone pleas tell me what is wrong with this? oh, you're right those words stand for ADA. which, i'm sure is also an abbreviation. i'm just not sure for what.
i'm sorry if i have posted your brains to smitherines.
but, i really need to document. and i have become a miserable journal keeper.
mostly because it is really frustrating to write by hand. it always slips back into
russian. whereas typing will forever only be natural in english.

hopefully one of these posts you find interesting.

Arvo Praet.

I know. I keep having these posts that are hardly about Russia.
But, it is about my life. Which happens to be taking place in Russia.

[and it will go back to experiences of Russia, after i speak a bit about Arvo]

Back to Arvo. I have a deep love for classical music.
Call me crazy. Do it. But, honestly. Everyone out there has at least
one composer that really resonates with them. People just need to take the
time to find it.

I, personally, have many. But, as of late, it is Arvo Praet. An Estonian composer.
Maybe it is because some of his music reminds me of the music I heard monks singing in
Orthodox Churches.
or maybe it is just because his music is really just that beautiful.
so that you can enjoy one of my favorite songs by him. if you so please:

Okay. Back to Russia.

Meet the Domovoy.
Domovoy is a house-spirit who watches over your home. And ensures safety.
He is like santa, in that you have to leave him food. Also, if you move, be sure to invite him.
I’m real lucky and haven’t had to live without one.

Meet my Domovoy. His name is Fyodor.

He was gifted to me by my photographing friend Sasha.
And yes, I have verbally asked him if he will move back to Utah with me.
Fyodor likes me and has agreed.

also: i looked up ADA. American Dental Association.

  1. Your Domovoy is super cute! He's like a cute old man woman. (woman eyes, man beard/everything else). Fyodor reminds me of Frodo from LOTR for some reason... Not really sure why. Probably his name hahaha Also, that song is really soothing and pretty. And yes, i am creeping/commenting on like all of your posts.. And I know how you feel about Arvo. I have several favorite composers, that each speak to my different moods. Chopin reminds me of my Dad/home. Tchaikovsky reminds me of dance and Rachmoninoff just makes me happy. Sorry.. more information than you wanted lol Maybe I'll just write my own post about my favorite composers. Miss you!
