today i am glad.
glad for:
america.
watermelon.
and the fact that someone taught me to ride a bike.
now that i have formatted my gladness. let me just expand, ok?
today is july fourth. and do you know what that means? the day we get to celebrate the wonderful day our country's independence was declared 236 years ago. and the holiday i love!
as i am listening to some patriotic music, i am tearing up. seriously, the United States of America is the most wonderful country. After traveling, and talking with many people from different countries, my love for my country has expounded.
every time i tell someone i am from the USA they respond: great country! or can you help me get there? or: wow, that is why you can travel.
so, everyone: celebrate extra for me, because this is my favorite holiday. and i am gone.
but: do not worry. i celebrated. with watermelon.
a whole half of it, in fact.
see that folks? best investment ever made.
that and the bike rental:
seriously. we invested in a 4 dollar ticket to and from this island, rented a bike and biked the entire island. this island was magical. there were horse-drawn carriages, ice cream shops, and beaches.
definitely my favorite day of my summer.
and it just happened to be on my favorite holiday!
love from turkey,
