Hey there Readerpeople.
This is Kylie, reporting live from Nizhniy Novgorod.
Last weekend was crazy. And I’m still dead tired. Real.
Tired. Because: Smotree(look, in Russian. But not real Russian. Because it has
a different alphabet.) We took a train on Friday night to Kazan. [a city not
too far from N. Novgorod]. And lemme tell you. It was like a sleep over on a
train. With 50 people.
Luckily, I didn’t sleep. But it was because of fun. We stayed up late talking with each other. Eating goodies and fruit. But, it was kind of a mistake. Because we got to Kazan at 7:00 am,
and then we went for a long day of Church visiting. Cool. Yeah. It was really
cool. Look at these pictures:
| weird smile, presented by Kylie. But look at the inside of that mosque. cool, right? |

Anyways. After our 11 hour tour ended... We rented Paddle Boats.
See?
See?
Our competition.
Then we took a train that night. Luckily, again, it was a sleeping train...that didn't provide for much sleep. But..its okay! It was adventurous.
Because we got into N. Novgorod at 8 am. And I was locked out of
my apartment. So I just sat on a bench until I could get ahold of Miss Maggie.
Then I went to church. I love the Church. Seriously. I feel so at home whenever
I am there.
Also: an old babushka asked me why I was learning Russian,
and when I told her I don’t know, she told me it is because the Lord has
planned for me to marry a Russian man. {i don't think so...}
And yesterday: I met a young man from Morocco. Cool. I wanna
visit Morocco. But he is a foreign student studying here. He is Maggie’s
friend.
Then we, Moroccoman, Maggie and I went to her friend’s house. I
actually didn’t catch his name. But, he was awesome. He was very patient with
my very poor Russian. And I thought he was 50. But, he was 72. And we ate
pancakes. And we talked about the church. They were all very shocked to know
that N. Novgorod has 2 branches of Mormons. Also they asked me about the word
of wisdom. That is the thing that throws Russians the most. It was cool for me
to be able to express what it was about in Russian. I did a poor job, but at
least I had the opportunity to!
So that is about it.
Tomorrow we are having a planning meeting at McDonalds. For
some reason, we are all craving McDonalds. Bleh. But really, it sounds really
yummy. Planning our trip to St. Petersburg.
Russianly Yours,
K. Billy
