Every night Miss Maggie and I have been watching films. They are all so great.
And all of them are comedies.
Meet the star of them all:
Leonid Gaidai
This guy is a legend in Russia. Not only was he the director, but he also had huge roles in all of them. 9 out of 10 of his movies became Russian classics. And it shows, every night, when Maggie shows me one of his films.
They are simple, but wonderfully funny. Thank you, Russia for Gaidai.
I was debating whether giving you a clip of his show. At first I was really excited, and then I realized that there would be a language barrier.
However, I decided to put a 29 second clip on just the same.
This specific clip is from a movie about a scientist who is working on a time machine. And when it works, Ivan the Terrible gets stuck in his world, and his landlord, who looks amazingly like Ivan the Terrible is stuck in the time of the first terror. It is just craftily made.
